We're talking rock types here. Be sure to do a complete discussion on igneous and sedimentary rocks and why they cause layers.
Nicely done! Look for images on Earth of rivers that cut through igneous and sedimentary rock layers. I suggest the Columbia Plateau for Igneous, and something like the Grand Canyon for Sedimentary. You want satellite images, because you'll be comparing satellite to satellite. Try to find images that are of the same scale as Odyssey. This is really looking great:)
I didn't like the way you phrased your question at all. Go to the website and see how I changed it. THAT'S what we decided on. Of course the rocks on Mars are either igneous or sedimentary. They are both! The question is how do you tell them apart? Or can you?
