E23 - Is it possible to tell the relative age of a volcano’s last eruption by comparing the crater counts on two different volcanoes lava flows?

Hmmm. That's a tough one to answer with a photograph. How about something like when was the last eruption of the Olympus Mons Volcano. Or even better, when was the last eruption of the youngest volcano on Mars? There's a ton of new stuff coming out about that.
I like it! Now you have to find out how they discover the ages of lava flows on Mars, and somehow make it unique. Don't be afraid to give up on Olympus Mons. It's a great topic, but they could probably just send you a picture and say "Her it is folks, do the math." It's your job to make it unique. There was a great story posted on the Mars Express site about recent eruptions on Mars. Go there and snoop around:)
Now yoiu must work on how they tell the age of a surface. Hint: crater counts! You might also want to toy with the idea of how many eruptions have happened, and how intensive were they. Just a thought . . .
